Special Olympics West Virginia is pleased to announce that the Walmart Foundation has provided a grant of $100,000 in support of the organization's four state events including the upcoming Summer Games and Fall Games. The funding will go toward enabling thousands of Special Olympics athletes throughout the state the opportunity to demonstrate their courage and determination and experience joy as they participate in 18 sports during the year.
“We are deeply touched by Walmart's financial generosity,” said John Corbett, Chief Executive Officer. “Not only has the company helped us address the many costs connected with our state events, but so many associates from Walmart and Sam's Club have shown their generosity by volunteering with our events and activities. This strong volunteer spirit helps ensure that our Special Olympics West Virginia athletes have meaningful and memorable experiences.”
This is the largest single corporate gift in the history of Special Olympics West Virginia. A big thanks to Walmart for helping put smiles on the faces of so many.
