What is widely considered one of the best golf tournaments in the state, the 14th Annual Toyota-Special Olympics West Virginia Golf Classic will be Monday, September 12 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane.
The golf classic is typically the largest single fundraising event for Special Olympics West Virginia. Toyota underwrites the entire cost of the tournament to ensure that all proceeds go directly to benefiting the thousands of Special Olympics athletes throughout the state by giving them opportunities for year-round sports training and competition in 18 sports.
Headlining the tournament this year will be professional golfer Mark Pfeil. Mark had 12 Top-10 finishes including a win at the Tallahassee Open during his PGA Tour career. He has also played on the Champions Tour. Mark will provide a golf clinic and then visit with participating golfers throughout the tournament. Space is still available for those wanting to field a team. Cost is $1,000 per foursome and includes golf, lunch, reception, dinner, and the opportunity to win some great prizes. Please contact the Special Olympics West Virginia office at 304-345-9310 for more information.
